According to old letters and records this is the site of the historic plantation home and the gardens that surrounded the old mansion known as The Emerald Gardens. The Brown Family moved to Grenada in 1835 and bought 2000 acres, partly from Indians, and in 1849 built the Plantation home, Emerald Gardens.
In later years the Beautiful old home was owned and occupied by the Provine family.
Today all that"s left of the once Grandiose Mansion is foundation stones and fireplace brick covered by the vines, lush undergrowth and dense forest of The Emerald Gardens.
The 6.3 acre site is surrounded by the City of Grenada and zoned for single family homes. The availability of city utilities makes for an excellent place to build homes.
