They have also re-introduced moose back into this area. The 2,300 acre San Luis Lakes State Park is also Just a short drive to the north. Smith Reservoir and Mountain Home Reservoir are both only about 20 miles away.

You can visit the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad, or The Fort Garland Museum And Cultural Center, or the White Mountain Trading Post Living History Museum. Or you can just relax in one of the nearby hot spring pools.

You will be about an hours drive from several of Colorados top ski resorts and Denver is only about a 4 hour drive away. Whatever you like to do, it is here!
