Property Description
The Heart Seven Ranch is a multi-faceted gem! The natural beauty of rolling hills and deep canyons, which are accentuated with pine, cedar, and a variety of hardwoods make it ideal for cattle as well as several recreational pursuits. The Heart 7 is home to both white tail and mule deer, antelope and an occasional elk. Other sightings include mountain lions, coyotes, beaver and raccoon. Turkeys, prairie chicken, quail, duck and Canadian geese frequent the area, making the Heart 7 a wildlife haven.
Plum Creek, which runs throughout the property, is a sand-bottom, spring-fed creek with a strong flow year round and boasts a brown trout population. The sand banks are excellent for rock and arrowhead hunting. Several small ponds could be developed for additional fishing.
There are three pastures-two with creek access and the third with an electric well. Many wildflowers bloom throughout the spring and summer making the grasslands especially beautiful. An unusual treat on this ranch are the numerous bird species which can be observed most often at the ranch house and grounds. About 40 varieties have been counted, making it a bird-watchers delight.
The same family has owned the ranch for over 100 years and it has a full set of buildings. The 2-story ranch home has four bedrooms, one bath, living and dining rooms, kitchen and porch with laundry. The broad lawns and mature trees make it ideal for deck-sitting and all manner of family activities. The other buildings include a large barn, granary, 1-car detached garage, small utility shop, and large metal shed with parking for six vehicles. Two fenced corrals complete the home place. The home has new furnace, AC and well/pressure tank.
The Heart 7 Ranch is a great place to enjoy hunting, fishing, swimming, 4-wheeling, and horseback riding or just a place to dream by beautiful Plum Creek.
Heart 7 is located 7 miles north of US Hwy 20 on a gravel road and is conveniently located only 8 miles from Ainsworth Municipal Airport which boasts an extra-long runway to accommodate small jets. Ten miles north of the ranch flows the Niobrara National Scenic River which is famous for canoeing, kayaking and tubing.
