The Sweetman Ranch is a true working ranch comprised of expansive and productive native and tame-grass grasslands, and creek bottoms. The ranch consists of 7,449+/- acres deeded along with a 467 aum grazing permit on the Buffalo Gap National Grassland and a 640 ac. Nebraska State Lease, and just the right amount of improvements.

The Sweetman Ranch is located in the heart of ranch country. The area of Southwestern South Dakota and Northwestern Nebraska is a region of the Northern Plains renown for the strong grass production and exceptional gains.

The ranch currently operates as a Cow/calf enterprise calving 530 mother cows and selling or removing the calves in the fall. The ranch has historically put up ample amounts of feed for winter feeding and has not relied upon purchased roughage. In addition to the grazing lease appurtenant to the ranch, in recent years approximately 130 pairs have been summered on a private lease allowing parts of the ranch to rest during the growing season.
