Elgin is also known as the Brick Capital of the Southwest". The town has a significant annual brick manufacturing capacity which far exceeds any other city in the entire state of Texas. They are home to three major brick manufacturing companies producing millions of bricks annually with distribution all over the US.

In Elgin you will discover many annual and community events. From children activates to the Farmers Market, Music in the Park, Western Days and Hogeye Festivals, Veterans Parade, several Art Shows, and Sip, Shop & Stroll to name a few, with many being held in the Historic Downtown District.
