Abington Ranch is truly a unique piece of Old Florida with a tremendous diversity of native landscape. With the lands long strands of oaks, sable palms, and cypress trees the property feels even larger than 3600 acres.
The nearly 4000 sq ft lodge is a master piece of a hunting cabin. The massive ceilings and old wood cabin feel are a step back in time. There is an abundance of game that live in the lodge compound and are a regular guest at the steps of the residence. Aside from the lodge there is a large workshop, as well as a well-maintained horse barn. There is also a 3200-foot landing strip just outside the lodge area that is fenced and well-manicured.
The ranch is bordered on the south and west boundary by Kissimmee Prairie State Park. This state-owned land is not open to hunters and is well over 50,000 acres. The north boundary is under a state conservation easement and is hunted very little.
Abington Ranch was recently added into the Florida Forever Conservation Easement Program. This easement allows for all Ag Operations, hunting, and recreational activities to continue, while ensuring that the property will remain in its natural state for perpetuity.
The ranch also has a 105+/- acre water farm (implemented by the South Florida Water Management District), in the Southwest corner that generates annual income for property. This project is on a 10 year contract that is up for renewal in 2024.
With a current carrying capacity of around 400 head the ranch could easily house up to 600 cows with the proper inputs and management. It has been over 15 years since the ranch has been intensively managed for cattle.
This is a special opportunity to own an old piece of Florida and create a legacy for generations to come. The unmatched beauty and diversity of this land is unparalleled in South Florida.
