Sandy Hollow Creek Ranch

The Sandy Hollow Creek Ranch is located only a few miles west of the Corpus Christi City Limits. Although you are that close to the city, the ranch is loaded with big oak trees, thick brush, and nice grass pastures. Sandy Hollow Creek is the highlight of this ranch. When you throw in the wildlife, deer, turkey, hogs, etc. you have quite the combination of a large home site and ranch life.

LOCATION

The ranch is in the far northwestern portion of Nueces County, it fronts the northeast side of FM 3088, and is at a 90 degree turn of County Road 58, at the propertys northwest corner. It is just under 10 miles west of Calallen (Corpus Christi) and just over 6 miles east, northeast of Orange Grove, Texas. According to our ID maplink, the property is located within the boundaries of Sandy Hollow Escondidas, northwest of the small community of Bluntzer, Texas at 27.9538, -97.82468.

TOPOGRAPHY, RANGELAND & HABITAT

The topography of the ranch is relatively flat on the east side and gently sloping with a change in elevation from 55 to 30 above sea level, sloping towards Sandy Hollow Creek that cuts through the west side of the property. This area of the county is not mapped fully for flood plain, however, the creek system is lower and is part of the flood plain area of the Nueces River. This flood area appears to cover approximately 30% of the property, with a couple of low areas identified on the east side of the property as well. The soils are clay to sandy loam, identified as Edroy clay soil, along with Miguel, Papalote, Clareville sandy loam, plus Sinton and Clareville clay loam. From the middle to east side of the property there two improved grass pasture fields encompassing approximately a third of the whole property. The remainder is mostly big trees and brush with some nice, maintained shredded areas scattered around the west side.
