Strips are mowed seasonally to create the edge that is so important for quail habitat. Food Plots are normally planted to winter wheat, providing the highest quality forage-based protein in the winter months. While theres no guarantee from year to year what the quail population will be, this place has harbored a huntable population over the past 10 years, when other places failed to produce.
